I love the engaging, interactive aspect of the program. With games built into the program, students can build their avatar, earn rewards, collect points and achieve game status for accomplishing various typing goals. My boys like using electronics, especially video games, which is why I think they enjoy using Typesy.
Sometimes the little, talking cartoon characters are a little too gimmicky and childish for older learners. I think this feature is especially beneficial when older kids are learning to type. But, I really appreciate that Typesy’s instruction is provided by a real person. We have tried numerous typing programs through the years. Plus, each child has their own dashboard where they can track their own progress! This is especially great for highly motivated kids who really like to challenge themselves and SEE their progress! And, I can easily keep track of all of their progress in the dashboard of my “classroom”! I love the tracking/monitoring feature! Typesy constantly monitors my kids’ progress, adapting to their current skill level. They can easily pick up where they left off on any device! Even if someone starts lessons on one laptop, they can continue their lessons on a different laptop.Īll of the computers automatically stay in sync because Typesy stores everything in the cloud! No more arguing and “calling dibs” on the computer. For example, we have three laptops that all five of my kids share. This feature is great for us homeschool families who utilize multiple devices.
